How GDPR Will Affect Your Vet Medic Experience

You may have heard recently that there are new data protection rules coming into force in May.

So how will GDPR affect your shopping experience with us? We’ve put together this easy-to-read guide to help you understand what you need to do to ensure you still get special offers from us.

What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is replacing the Data Protection Act. The changes look to tighten what companies can do with your information. The increase of data protection online is always a good thing, but

But it will require you to make some changes to your Vet Medic account.

While we have always kept your information secure and restricted to our in-house our mailing list, you might soon find yourself off the list altogether. Potentially missing out on discount codes and special offers!

What Do I Need To Do?

We have sent an email out to all current subscribers in which you are prompted to confirm you wish to remain on our mailing list. If you do not confirm your subscription within the email, you will be removed from our mailing list when the law changes on May 25th.

To confirm your subscription simply click the “Verify Your Subscription” button in the email. Please see below:

You will then be taken to our website automatically and you will see a confirmation message.

On the screen before you, you should see a list of preferences. You can then close the page, OR if you wish to receive a more personalised email experience, you can select your preferences. Are you a cat owner who doesn’t want emails containing dog offers? Then simply select to receive cat emails and decline dog emails. Not only does this ensure the right discounts and offers are reaching you, it also means you will only be sent relevant emails.

Remember, you can unsubscribe at any time. Simply log in to your account and change your information, un-ticking the newsletter box. Simple!

If you have any questions regarding GDPR or require any help then please feel free to get in touch.
