Scalibor dog collars are an easy, effective and long lasting way to treat ticks, mosquitoes and sandflies. Each Scalibor collar will provide 6 months of protection.

Scalibor collars control tick and sand fly (the vector of canine Leishmaniasis) infestations for up to 6 months. However, single bites may occasionally occur and consequently disease transmission cannot be completely excluded. Scalibor dog collars are odourless and remain active when the dog becomes wet. As the collar exerts its full effect after 1 week, it should be applied 1 week before animals are likely to become exposed to infestation.

While occasional contact with water does not reduce the effectiveness of the collar, its Deltamethrin is harmful to fish and other aquatic organisms. Dogs must therefore be prevented from swimming for the first 5 days of wearing the collar, and have the collar removed before any subsequent swims. Collars should also be removed before the dog is shampooed. This product may be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Scalibor Dog Collar

Excellent product - no ticks implant on the dog and we find dead ticks in the dog bed.

Scalibor Dog Collar

I have used these for years and it works really well. My dog is often in tick infected areas and does not get ticks attaching and we frequently find dead ones in her bedding. More reliable for ticks than spot on treatments in my opinion, but you do still need to treat fleas separately.

I normally buy this in Spain but it's a better price and as soon as we get to Spain I've got the collar on and she's covered

General
My pets don’t go outdoors much, do I still need to treat them for fleas?

Yes. Even indoor-only pets can become exposed to fleas if an untreated pet visits your home or if you or a friend brings in flea eggs or cocoons on shoes or clothing.

What is the best way to resolve a home infestation?

Flea infestations are unpleasant for you and your pets and can take 3 months or more to resolve, so be patient. Follow our 5 steps to help resolve the problem:

1. Ensure all cats, dogs and flea-bearing pets in your home are continually treated with an appropriate product at the recommended intervals for at least 3 consecutive months.

2. Vacuum more often than usual – ideally daily - and include places your pet regularly visits, for example, the car. The vibration caused by vacuuming helps to encourage pupae to hatch.

3. Regularly wash your pet's bedding at a minimum of 60°C.

4. Treat your home with a household flea spray containing an insect growth regulator (IGR), such as FRONTLINE HomeGard. Always read the instructions on the can before use.

5. Ensure your pets have access to all the same parts of the home that they usually do. Fleas present in those areas will be killed when they hop onto your treated pet.
