How does Vet Medic protect customer information?

However, Vet Medic may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

In the event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, most banks and card issuers either cover all the charges that result from unauthorised use of your credit or debit card or may limit your liability to just £50.00
We process your personal data, which includes your name, contact details, prescription medicines and data from other pharmacy and health care services we provide to you (including, for example, but not exhaustive, prescription medicines, and medicines requiring pharmacist input) for the purposes of:
Your care – providing pharmacy services and care to you and your animal, as appropriate, sharing your information with your vet.
Our payments – sharing your information with our 3rd party payment providers, SagePay and Paypal
Management – sharing only limited information with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate and General Pharmaceutical Council who ensure we maintain appropriate professional and service standards and that your declarations and ours are accurate.
Fulfilling your order – sharing only relevant and limited information to third parties to deliver the service you have requested, such as with payment processors for fraud prevention purposes and with couriers for delivery of your order.
We hold your information for as long as advised by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate and other bodies eg NHS.
We process your personal data in the performance of a task in the public interest, for the provision of healthcare and treatment and the management of healthcare systems. We will not be able to provide some of our services without your personal information.
A pharmacist is responsible for the confidentiality of your information.
The information we use depends on the types of our services you use. For most services, we need to know your name, address, contact details and information about your pet. For prescription services we, will need to see and retain a legally valid prescription which will contain owner, vet and animal data.
We also need your payment details, which are processed securely by a third party.
You may object to us holding or processing your information by providing us with details of your objection.
You have a right to a copy of the information we hold about you, generally without charge. This request should be made in writing and evidence of your identity will be needed before we can release the information to you.
You may seek to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information we hold about you.
You can withdraw your consent for us to use your personal information at any time.
You can ask us to delete your personal information, however, we have the right to refuse to comply with your request if your information is processed for reasons such as:
• It is needed to perform a task carried out in the public interest, to provide healthcare or treatment or it is necessary for reasons of public health.
• It is needed to comply with our legal obligations
• It is required to allow us to fulfil contractual obligations.
You can request that we restrict the personal information we store and use about you where you have objected to our use of it or you have asked for it to be erased.
We will not use your personal information for marketing purposes, nor share it with third parties, without your explicit consent.
